It's#TipThursday for candidates again! Read on for this week's topic. 👨🏫
When you schedule a call for a prescreen or interview, it's important to be ready to pick up the phone. After all, this is an appointment that you scheduled as a time you would be available and it's a commitment that you made. This all circles back to first impressions again, particularly when being respectful of the other person's time.
If something comes up, no worries! You can reschedule by re-booking your appointment by either letting the other person know or using whatever software they might have -- such as Calendly or Acuity Scheduling, for example. It's very easy to do and saves time as well as showing respect for your meeting partner.
Additionally, the call may be from a phone number you're not familiar with, but if you're receiving a call at the anticipated time, it's most likely from the company. If you also have a phone setting that filters out numbers that aren't in your contact list, I would recommend adding the number the company has listed they'll be calling you from as well as turning off the setting temporarily.
